Tamannaah Bhatia is an Indian actress who has appeared in films in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. She has appeared in over 73 films and has won a South Indian International Movie Award and been nominated for eight Filmfare Awards South. For her services to Indian cinema, she was awarded the Kalaimamani in 2010 and an honorary doctorate in 2022.
Tamannaah Bhatia was born on December 21, 1989 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to parents Santosh and Rajani Bhatia. Anand Bhatia is her elder brother. Her father is a diamond dealer. Her ancestors are Sindhi Hindus. She attended Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School in Mumbai. She eventually changed her screen name to Tamannaah due to numerological reasons. She began her career at the age of 13, when she was recognized at her school’s annual day ceremony and offered a starring role, which she accepted, and then spent a year with Mumbai’s Prithvi Theatre.

Tamannaah made her acting debut in the 2005 Hindi film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra. She then made her Telugu film debut with Sri (2005) and her Tamil debut with Kedi (2006). She has since starred in films like as Happy Days (2007), Kalloori (2007), Padikathavan (2009), Ayan (2009), Paiyaa (2010), Siruthai (2011), Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), and Sardar Gabbar Singh (2016).
